LIBRARY SERVICES DURING THE COVID-19 CLOSING
Stay Connected @ 28 Main
Due to the spread of COVID-19 in our state, the library is still not open to the public. Starting June 1 staff will be available to answer
the phone and arrange for pick-up of holds. During this time the following will be in place:
. All items originally due during our closed time were extended to May 22. Anything returned to the book drop by Tuesday morning, May 26 at 9 a.m.
will be backdated to the 22nd. We are doing our best to empty the book drop over the holiday weekend. Please do not return items to the book drop
if it is overflowing as we cannot guarantee that you will not be charged to replace lost or damaged materials that were not secured. Call us!
. Curbside holds are now available! All borrowers with materials on our hold shelf have
been called oe emailed to set up a no-contact pick-up time and newer holds will be available soon. We will be filling holds on a regular basis
basis beginning the week of June 1. There are 3 ways to request a hold: 1) through Encore, our online catalog, 2) through our new online request form (limit
of 3 items, and 3) by phone. Please use the method most convenient for you. We will be filling holds in the order in which they are received.
Exisiting holds will take top priority.
. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about your
library record or checkouts, need reference information, would like to suggest a purchase for our collection or inquire about a
book or movie, or would like to place or cancel a hold and are unable to do so online.
. Visit our homepage to access eBooks and audiobooks, use our databases, and link to classes, movies, and Acorn TV.
For your reference needs we also offer our Digital Reference Shelf.
. If your library card is expired, please email email@example.com or call us at
860-627-1495 starting on June 1 (10-5). We can update your card for 60 days so you can download books and access databases. Come in for your
3-year renewal when we are open again.
. If you are a Windsor Locks resident and would like to register for a library card while we are closed to the public, please use our
