ELECTRONIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS
AT WINDSOR LOCKS PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Windsor Locks Public Library is pleased to
offer wireless Internet access for our patrons. All of our policies
regarding appropriate Internet use also apply to those who access
the Internet from library property using their own PCs.
USING THE LIBRARY'S PERSONAL COMPUTERS:
Individuals are entitled to use the library's Internet accessible PCs for up to 90 minutes per day.
A Connecticut library card and password are required for signing on. Individuals may NOT use multiple cards for
additional computer time and are expected to use their own personal card to sign on to a PC. If you do not
have a library card, please see library staff for information of how to obtain one.
All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while using the library's PCs.
Children ages 12 through 15 must have an Internet Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian and on file
at the circulation desk in order to sign on to a PC. Library staff is not responsible for monitoring the Internet
use of minors beyond enforcement of our own policies.
All public PCs shut down automatically 10 minutes before closing. Please allow enough time to complete your work and to print.
Visitor passes are available for out-of-state visitors only. All Connecticut residents must have a library card
in good standing in order to use a PC at the Windsor Locks Public Library.
The cost of printing is 25 cents per page for black & white and 75 cents per page for
color on 8 1/2x11" or 11x14" paper.
Users must possess basic computer skills since staff availability to help is limited.

The following activities are not permitted:
Loading software, altering existing software configurations, or
Publicly viewing web sites that are considered obscene or
objectionable by library staff.
Downloading illegal materials or using the library's equipment to
engage in illegal activities.
Please see a librarian if you have questions or concerns about any of these activities.
As is the case with other materials in the library's collection,
any restriction of a minor's access to or use of external networks shall be the responsibilty of the minor's parent or legal
