OUR FIRST ADULT WINTER READING PROGRAM HAS COME TO A CONCLUSION! OUR THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED. IN ALL, 76 READERS SUBMITTED 448 TITLES DURING THE MONTHS OF JANUARY & FEBRUARY. WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR, HOPEFULLY WITH BETTER WEATHER! IN THE MEANTIME, OUR SUMMER ADULT READING PROGRAM, NOVEL DESTINATIONS, WILL BE COMING UP IN JUNE. WATCH FOR DETAILS SOON! Welcome to Windsor Locks Library's Adult Winter Reading Program, "Cozy Up to a Good Book." Registration will be take place throughout January and February. There is no "required" reading...just read what you like and submit your completed titles to be eligible for prizes. Join us anytime!HOW TO PARTICIPATE:  Register during January or February at the library's
circulation desk. You may also register online by filling out this form and clicking the SUBMIT button: Each participant will be given an information
sheet that includes slips to be turned in as you finish reading or listening to each book of your choice.
Additional sheets can be obtained at the circulation desk as you need them or you can print your own by clicking
here.Cut and fill out a slip for every book that you complete during January and February. Be
sure to check off the prize basket drawing that you prefer to enter. If you do not choose a drawing your entry will
automatically go into the next upcoming drawing. Turn in each slip at the circulation
desk and it will be entered into the indicated drawing or the next upcoming drawing. An online version of our entry slip is also available below for your convenience.
It IS winter, after all, and we can't always depend on the weather to cooperate with our plans to visit the library! All of our readers are welcome to submit reviews of their books for inclusion in our
Readers' Blog. They can be dropped at the desk with your entries or
emailed to Eileen Pearce. Drawings will be held every Tuesday beginning January 25. All you need to do to be
eligible to win is to READ what you like and to submit an entry form for every book that you complete.The following reading-themed baskets will be given away: Literary Fiction (1/25/2011) Winner: Stefanie DesRocher Thriller (2/1/2011) Winner: Dennis DeMaine Mystery (2/8/2011) Winner: Cheryl Rampelli Romance (2/15/2011) Winner: Kristie Mund Classic (2/22/2011) Winner: Marie Bastarache Grand Prize Afghan (3/1/2011) Winner: Paula Hoyt The grand prize is a handmade warm and cozy afghan in spring colors (pictured above), just perfect for cuddling up with a good book on a cold day. All entries that have not previously been chosen for a prize will be included in the drawing for the afghan, which will be held on March 1. The last date for turning in entries will be February 28.
