~ COZY UP TO A GOOD BOOK - ANY TIME OF DAY! ~

our grand prize afghans

Welcome to Windsor Locks Library's 2013 Adult Winter Reading Program, Cozy Up to a Good Book - Any Time of Day. This winter we'd like to emphasize that any time is a great time for a classic novel, so for our weekly prize drawings we have randomly paired some great classic meals and snacks with some equally great classic (and future classic) books that will really whet your appetite for reading! Registration will be take place throughout January and February. There is no "required" reading... just read what you like (including magazines) and submit your titles read (or finished) during January through early March to be eligible for prizes. Join us anytime!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

blue dot Register during January or February at the library's circulation desk. You may also register online by filling out this form and clicking the SUBMIT button:

blue dot Each participant will be given an information sheet that includes slips to be turned in as you finish reading or listening to each book or magazine of your choice. Additional sheets can be obtained at the circulation desk as you need them or you can print your own by clicking here.

blue dotCut and fill out a slip for every book or magazine that you complete during January and February. Turn in your entry at at the circulation desk and you will automatically be entered into the next upcoming drawing.

blue dot An online version of our entry slip is also available below for your convenience. It IS winter, after all, and we can't always depend on the weather to cooperate with our plans to visit the library!

blue dot All of our readers are welcome to submit reviews of their books for inclusion in our Readers' Blog. They can be dropped at the desk with your entries or emailed to Eileen Pearce.

blue dot Drawings for prizes will be held every Tuesday beginning January 22. All you need to do to be eligible to win is to READ what you like and to submit an entry form for every book that you complete. Please submit only books completed during the program, January 2 through March 7.

Feb. 19, 2013: Tea for Two with Jane Eyre - Kate Zysk
Feb. 26, 2013: Nightcap with Picture of Dorian Gray - James Desrocher
March 8, 2013: Afghan Kate Zysk

 The grand prize will be a handmade warm and cozy afghan in shades of brown, red, and blue (pictured above), just perfect for cuddling up with a good book on a cold day. The grand prize afghan will be on display at the Circulation Desk throughout the program.

All entries that have not previously been chosen for a weekly prize will be included in the grand prize drawing, which will be held on March 8, 2013. Each book you read and submit is another chance to win! The last date for turning in entries will be March 7.
